Licensing CoSolvent Community Server is straight forward. iPOV has chosen to team up with Amzaon Web Payments to offer CoSolvent as a SaaS style “Purchased EC2 Instance” . Note that while the term purchase is used, you are paying a usage based fee and can discontinue service at anytime. The direct link to make this purchase is https://aws-portal.amazon.com/gp/aws/user/subscription/index.html?offeringCode=9EE8C122 – note that if you have not already signed up for an AWS account you will be prompted to create one at this time; please read our introduction to this is you have any questions.
iPOV does not charge additional usage fees beyond those for the EC2 service itself; instead we have a simple monthly fee for use of our EC2 Images of $550 / month for standard CoSolvent Community Server installs. Note that in addition to the basic software, we also offer a number of services, spelled out on our web site http://www.ipov.net/content/purchase-community-server as part of this package.
Once you have logged into your AWS account, you will be presented with a series of screens presenting you with all applicable charges and terms of service:
Once you have confirmed these details, Amazon will activate your subscription:
When Amazon has activated your subscription, you can access the CoSolvent Community Server Images on EC2; however iPOV asks that you complete a final step to help us better serve you. When you click “Continue” on the screen shown above, you’ll be redirected to a page where Amazon will provide you with a Product Activation Key – copy this and save it to a file and/or print it off. You will also be presented with an activation screen from iPOV. If you do not fill in this form, you may be unable to access automatic upgrades to CoSolvent Community Server, and iPOV will be unable to verify the standing of your subscription; so please make sure you fill in this form. If you have any problems, you can contact iPOV directly and provide use with you Amazon ID and the Product Activation Key and we can complete the activation step manually.
If the Product is not already selected in the “Product Code” listing, choose the product you subscribed to – the activation process will validate your Activation Key and the Product Code against your account, so make sure you select the correct entry. Copy and paste the Activation Key from the listing that Amazon provides – but be sure to save it first. Then enter the rest of your contact information (optional, but highly recommended). Note that some parts of the activation process may not fully function unless the email you provide us is the same as the one you used to register with Amazon.
When you’re activation with iPOV is complete you should receive a screen like the following (the code may be a good bit longer in real life). We recommend saving and printing this information as well. Setting up automatic configuration of CoSolvent Community Server will require this code in the configuration wizard.
Congratulations! You are now ready to start launching instances of the CoSolvent Community Server EC2 Image.
